Summer and I made a return trip to Nisqually NWR, WA. We planned this outing getting up at 5:00am to catch a sunrise at the Refuge. The weather report was favorable, the radar was favorable and sun was called for the day! SURPRISE!!!! When we walked out the door to leave, it was snowing............We attributed that to our higher elevation here in Bonney Lake. Determined, we continued south to our destination (only forty minutes from home). It snowed it sleeted it hailed it rained and when we arrived at the NWR it was all fogged in- NO SUNRISE!! We went to Norma's (a great little restaurant we found), first customers of the day! Hot coffee and french toast, while we waited for a glimmer, a speck, a sign of sunlight. Well folks..........we went and birded and guess what the sun came blasting thru at 11:30 (Not the time or type of lighting that you want for photography). Herein is what I did manage to get!
