Winter 2010 in the CVNP : I have not been out to photo since Punderson State Park a couple of weeks ago. I was definitely going thru withdarawal from my camera! Today I got in the car with no clue as where to go, I ended up in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was 14 degrees when I got there, but the sun was out and I needed a fix! LOL Anyway I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

Winter 2010 at Sandy Ridge Reservation : I had not been to Sandy Ridge Reservation in the winter. What a stark contrast! Sping thru fall the park is full of birds, deer, mink, muskrat, frogs and everything else you find in a wetland, here in northern Ohio. Solitude would be the word I would choose for the heart of winter in this park!

Rocky River Reservation-Berea Falls 2009 : With the holidays behind us, I finally get to go out and shoot again. I couldn't wait and it was a great day (except the gray skies) for tromping thru the snow and taking pics!

Fall 2009 Hocking Hills : I went to Hocking Hills this Oct 2009 and joined photography friends Jerry and Lorie to capture some of the fall colors. We did a little hiking and took in the scenery. I had been there in June and covered the prime areas such as Old Man's Cave, Devil's Bathtub, etc. (which can be viewed in the other HH gallery) This trip I concentrated on Logan Lake and the Upper Rim Trail above Conkle's Hollow.

French Creek Park : Today, Sunday Sept 27th I was going to stay home and relax! At about 5:30 the bug hit me to grab my camera and explore a park not far from my home. I had never been there before, but I have driven by it numerous times. I only took 3 pics as I wanted to see as much of the park as possible for a future shoot. Okay- I found myself deep in the park with the sun setting, LOST!!!! The trails intersect and before I knew it I had no idea which trail I was on! I did run into a herd of deer with one HUFFING Buck in rut! OOPS! Anyway I intend to return tomorrow if possible and add to this gallery.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park-Kendall Ledges : On a whim, my sister and I stopped at Kendall Ledges on the way home from Mantua. It had rained all morning and the sun was peaking thru. The loop trail is 1 and 3/4 of a mile around. So as we went further in (cameras in tow) clicking away and having a great time,
we didn't notice the sky changing to storm clouds. Our first clue was thunder! We pushed on hoping it would blow over. No such luck!!!! Thank goodness my camera backpack is water proof. It didn't just rain- it was torrential, a monsoon of rain, buckets of rain. Need I say more? By the time we found shelter under an over hang (more of a small cave complete with spiders and other creepy crawlers) we were drenched! We sat there like wet dogs and laughed thru the down-pour. All of that for 7 decent pics. (not great, DECENT!) Just one more saga in the life of a diehard photographer. All camera junkies have stories like this, I just wanted to share this one with all of you!

Towpath 8/16/09 : A friend and I visited a portion of the Towpath in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The beauty and sites along the Towpath are numerous. We are so fortunate to have this treasure to explore and enjoy. What you see here is only a tiny teaser of the CVNP.

Lanterman's Mill : MPEG SHOOT- long drive to Youngstown, Ohio but worth the drive. A challenge at that time of day - really needed afternoon for the sun position. Also I could have used a wider lens. Sue showed me some other spots within the park and I have included them here.

Herons CVNP April 2009 : Easter Sunday, Summer and I took off for CVNP. We were lucky to find the Heronry on Bath Rd and snapped hundreds of pictures. The herons were gathering sticks for the nests (which were numerous) and mating. It was quite a show!
